Carpets
i(5279 Nazife) cannot get a contract. She was ill and could not come, and i(5380 Perihan) cannot manage by herself. i(5380 Perihan) has not managed to get herself ....... elsewhere.
Carpet making remains a major source of income.
Very hard to get figures clear, because of terms and sizes.
Girls make about 500TL a day i.e. it stays less than unskilled labour.
(Min. wage 10,000 a month)
i(5492 Yeter) made TL50,000 for her father [£250] Probably gross per carpet.

i(0185 A.O.) spoke of increase in silk (ince) and related this to GŸlveren and other villages; but someone else said silk weaving now goes on in S.
Opinions vary, but production certainly goes on, though sales are said to be slow.
