and the men get very hungry. AO either has a quick kavalt on rising, or takes one with him to the fields when he goes at 5 a.m. or thereabouts. Once the
'tandr' has been lit and is burning well, Fatma bakes bread and cooks for the day - pirin, bulgur, ehriye, pilv, kendine, yaprak, pancar or other vegetables.
These are sent out cold to the people working in the fields - carried out in the bardak (large wooden jugs) and kup (earthenware jars), along with ayran,
and lots of water. One lot of food sent out around 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., the next goes out during the early afternoon. Akam yemei eaten at house after return
from fields in evening.
