Alaynl Muhtar's 'ev'. Women v. interested in my clothing - quality of jumper, what I wear underneath, type of stockings, etc. While I was there, i(0014 Mustafa
Aksoyb)'s{gl: emigrant to Ankara before 1949. I visited 1989,93 -different surname, see fnotes} wife arrived, an Ankara girl, visiting her husband's relatives
in these villages. She was dressed western style - good cotton dress and coat, woollen stockings but nice shoes, scarf tied our fashion (under chin) around her
head. She also subjected to various questions about her clothing - what she wore under dress, whether neither of us wore 'pantolons', etc. She said that I, and
most women at Ankara, wore short 'pantolons'. Women expressed amazement and wanted to see. "We should be cold like this", they said - "and our husbands wld.
think it ayip."
