Houses and House Interiors

Kanber. Osman's house. Stone built, approaches up flight of steps, leading onto flat porch. Door off this porch leads into a hall - with rooms, buckets, etc.
in one corner and baby's cradle - Raised dais at further end of this hall - with tandr and an ocak. Two rooms off this hall - first an 'oda', with windows
overlooking the harman. Usual pattern. Whitewashed, sedir along either wall, ocak at end, and sink in darkest corner where water is kept.

Second room is the 'ev', - darker because at back of house, but has a window. Cooking utensils around the wall, sandk, etc. Just at present the 'ev' is being
used as a store room - with grain from the 'harman' piled on the floor. Family are sleeping in the 'oda': cooking done on the 'tandr' outside.
