Visit to Muhtar's ev. i(5188 Fatma Karakaya), his mother, asks me again about my mother. I tell her I have had a letter. "What does your mother say?" I reply
that she says she and my father are well, send their greetings, that the spring is coming, etc. and almond blossom opening. "How does she say the cows are
after the winter" says i(5188 Fatma). I tell her we are " ehirli" and don't have cows, though there are many in England. She finds it hard to believe that we
live without animals.
