Cycled out and back in a day. Rooms untouched. Consulted eitmen and muhtar regarding
price and rooms (20 TL). Visited muhtar in his fields in Kanber-evlik direction, ploughing
with his sister. Rain did not deter them.
Thieving incident. - One child accused by other children. Unfortunately I did not know I had
brought the phial of vitamin pills, which he took,with me. Note public accusation and
indignation - stone throwing at other boy; when he began to accuse him I should (a) have
realised the truth of the accusation (b) have kept out of the quarrel to see what they would do.
Left village at 1.40 p.m., home by 3.50 (puncture 20 mins.)
Thurs. 27th Oct. - returned by truck for serious fieldwork.
